And do you do anything special to your Yucca to get them to flower, Dan???? although I've only had mine for a couple of years so I am not too worried....yet!

Not really Kel. I have them planted in the loamy, rich beds and in the leaner soil beds and they do about the same for me, and have blooms every year, although it took them a while when first planted to produce bloom ( I think either 2 or 3 years)

The End of the Soup for another year...oh my.
Well WE have had fun, haven't we?
It has been a pleasure to see so many beautiful plants...and peeps into other things folks included.
It's a lovely finale too, Big Smile with her Yucca blooming so fully...makes me want to go get one for myself, but space limitations say no.
And Clyde212 what a perfect way to end the Soup...that yellow lily with an orange throat (or a deeper yellow depending on screen colours!) For me it really emphasizes the wonderful feelings I had when the Soup began this year, the sight of all the plants as we went from A finally down to Zed...You couldn't have picked a better flower, Clyde!
Thank you everyone, for participating. You are a great bunch of folks.

Soup's OVER?!! B-b-but I have a few soupçons to shoehorn in yet, dearest Tante Liz. whingewhinesob Y'see, I forgot to hit SEND before Midnight EDT.
Started another log cabin made from saved XMAS TREE TRUNKS
then changed my mind and constructed a vertical interest climbing apparatus out of them elsewhere.
Gasping YONGE STREET annual fleur containers.
[Fleurs were gasping, that is. NOT the containers.]
Never knew the name of this bloomer. After a harsh pruning its
skeleton was revealed and it became known as the Y-ROSE SHRUB.
YAY! Lyn's YELLOW LILIES in their second year.
Look closely and you'll see a dreaded Lily pest. @#$%!! Hmmm.
Never mind. It isn't visible following photo down-sizing, ;o}
ZAPP BUTTERNUT SQUASH leaves got gigantic.
A pity this plant didn't bear fruit. What a bummer of a Summer. waaa
To title this ZILLIONS of TINY TOMS is an eggsZaggeration, but this store-bought plant produced the most fruit, which were also the most flavourless. bleck
Chose pic of the Mill Pond's ZINNIAS cuz they were much more abundant than mine. This year I plan to sow at least half as many, which would be 10 times more than grown in 2011.

Ah! A curtain call!
MareE, you have outdone yourself! Talk about much of a muchness....and you complain about a poor summer? Those Yonge St baskets, fantastic...and that rose bush too. sure doing something right.
I am SO used to lots of leaves and too short a season for the fruit to form, or too lousy a season
I sure hope we ALL have great garden season this year.
(love your log cabine...did you find an Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass little bottle that said "Drink me?")

Re: ALPHABET SOUP - X Y Z -
[deep bowing in your genial direction] LAFF! No trip thru the Looking Glass, alas, fanciful Tante. I'd figgered I had enuff Tomato plants growing and decided to grow Gourds in Toms Cabin location without "logs". Neighbours on West fence didn't control their ratty shrubs last year and 5 new varieties of Gourds were in deep shade from 3:30pm come August. Toms wouldn't have made it there either. I imagine sensible Soopia would've picked up her burlap burkha and relocated to Full Sun spot by May! ;o}

Knowing Soopia as I do, she'd have just stood there, stoically.
Methinks you are turning that garden into pure Magic.
