Re: Rhododendron
Gosh I miss Rhodos - they just can't take the cold up here. There are a few azaleas and rhodos that are supposed to be Zone 3, but I have had such poor luck and have rarely seen any other gardens with them either.
I grew up at the Coast, and remember taking time to visit the wonderful Rhododendron Walk at Van Dusen Botanical gardens in Vancouver with my Mom every year. The display lasted for months and the colours, scent and sheer size was always worth several visits.
I am very envious of your lovely bushes!

Re: Rhododendron
Gorgeous!
I too grew up with rhodos in the UK and didn't take too much notice of them. They were just there. In retrospect they were magnificent - some as tall as 20 feet high and 20 feet across, and dozens of them planted together. One can imagine the effect. For the most part these mass plantings were in public paths or in public parks, but they grew wild too. I guess it's the damp temperate climate that the rhodos love!

Puff your pics bring back wonderful memories when Hubby and I were at Kew Gardens on our tour to England in 2006. We were also at the Chelsea Flower Show, an amazing place!!
England has so many beautiful Gardens!! Those Rhodos look just as pretty as they did back then.
