Wow! That's quite the project you have up your sleeve. Good luck K - you'll need it!

A nice hedge, not too tall, immediately in front of the patio area would make a nice privacy screen.

Thanks all!! Ven...the older one is a girl...you think I'll get much work out of a bunch of pre-teen girls????LOL

The boys might work though....

BBQ... there will be shrubs and the like in there...I prefer more of an English Garden feel....not really in need of privacy hedge...I have the porch to sit on as well...hedge along the side...trees on the other side....trees in front......

Will have to take a pic now...the area has been scraped of most of the screenings....and shaped. But there is still another layer of screenings and still some sand to remove.

Oh....I am sure there are a couple...but she'd just turn around and say...oh yuck!!!

Not so girlie girl my girl!!

Now I wonder if there are any guys who want to show ME how manly man they are?????? 8)

Here is most recent...my X, having all the toys, and paying me back for all those railway ties (he took them off my hands!) came with his tractor and back dragged some of the screenings from the area for the garden (other parts of the drive really needed it...so doing some recycling!!) Still lots of work...still about 2 inches of screenings at the bottom end....lovely sand under that!

Hey Murph....Does that mean you are offering to help???? :P

I was just mentioning the same to my neighbour...now that I have started I just want to keep working on it, get it done...but...I have to wait for my tax refund so I can get a truckload of soil to fill in there...and to buy the plants that are going in!!!

So maybe I just dig a little each day......
