Scrap - CT has had some nice looking plants this year. I've got a Morden Blush, it's my favorite rose. When you say topiary, do you mean on standard? Looks like a tree with a long bare trunk and the foliage at the top?

Linda and Ven - I'm sure you'll be able to find somewhere to put the thyme.

This path you have created between the poplars is very inviting!You could put flood lights at the base of the trees pointing upwards towards the canapy (of the trees)

Yep Eeyore...straight, bare trunk with the foliage and roses on top...that's the one! Morden Blush topiaries/standard...I'm sooo tempted.
