Some idea Please
Made some wood chips today from some trees that we had cut down. Now I need some ideas please! I'm cleaning up the rest of the section where we cut down some trees and I'm going to make a woodland garden.
Any suggestions on some plants other then HOSTA's to put in this woodland garden.
Zone 4 is where I am!
Area- is part sun/part shade

Ferns, ligularia, shooting stars, native shrubs, astilbe. There are numerous plants you could put in a space like that. Lucky you!

Tiny urban garden, protected by attack cat named Smack. Beware of cat.

Cimicifuga (Bugbane, Black Snakeroot)
Starting with the back border is helpful.
I think Cimicifuga is the cadillac of woodland garden perennials. Don't they look good planted with a dark forest area behind them, so their flowers show up?
Also, check out Fleeceflower, it's as tall and wide as a bush, even in part shade!
