Re: Pergola over front deck?
My cuz has a beautiful deck and pergola
I never saw one done like hers and its the only way to go
Huge deck all along the front to the side
at one end right towards her huge and ebeautiful gardens and pond you go down one step and walk right into a hugescreened hexigone perola seats 8
Then just off the deck to the left 2 more steps to get to the gardens
It is the most praxtial way to build and pergola and deck, all attached
I think it not only looks stupid but not practial to have a pergola off on the lawn somewhere
The you need to walk a distance to serve drinks food etc
My cuz walks out her kitchen garden door onto the deck, then walks around her deck a few feet all attached to the deck is the pergola

Yes Lulu we built it from scratch, we used the plastic latice and just painted the posts to match. When we decided to build it I did a little research on the net and this one really caught my eye, so we kinda used this picture to build ours, minus the circles.....

[size=150My neighbor has a small front porch (very small) that had no roof on it and they put a pergola up. It looks very nice. I will try and get a picture of it this weekend and post it on Monday.

That's what I would like over our deck! I am trying to talk DH into moving it to the center of our garden and building the pergola over top! It is 10x12'.

Perhaps these ppl enjoy their privacy ....
For some reason I thought "green lumber" (treated) was out
of favour.
All school playgrounds were removed in this area due to the green lumber .... hazardous to the health of children.

I saw one in Calgary, just a few doors down from my son's house. I'll ask him to take a pic. It is stained brown, looks nice.
