Pergola over front deck?
Has anyone ever seen a Pergola on the front of a house? We wanted to do a covered porch (full roof) over our front deck but the cost and building restrictions won't allow us to do so?
Your thoughts please.
Thanks, Brenda

I can't recall ever seeing one but I can't see why you wouldn't do one. Depending on the design of your house it would look very nice

A house here in town has a pergola off the front. But the pergola roof is not a full roof, kinda sticks out a few feet in from each side. VERY nice. They have a seating area and gardens around the sides of it. This is right off their front step in front of what I assume is the living room window. It's on an older home and looks quite stunning.

Ok,,got a few pictures; no one home to ask permission:got the mailman in one!
Looks like the lattice is 3/4 of the way up, not just 1/2 way.
Meggylou, is this the same one that you referred to??, and yes, I live on the Minnowlake side (we call it the Poor side.
Trying to be patient, but not impressed with the new forum; had to register again; were we warned at all???

The lattice is a bit to high for my likeing but it's a nice effect. That's what I want on my back deck but so far hubby hasn't been persuaded! LOL!

The lattice is a bit high for my liking too, Lynn, but they are on a main thoroughfare; it's a side street, but people use it to avoid the traffic lights, consequently, it's a very, very busy street, so, maybe they were going for more privacy?
Looks like they come out their front door, off the living room.
