Downspout Rainwater

I am in Calgary, AB. I'd stick a garbage can under the spout, but with our winds, it will probably be airborne before filled with water. I think I really like the idea of paying the handy guys $9 they ask to outfit the barrell with a spout/overflow. Better than all the whining and procrastination I'd get from my husband - handyman he is not.

Hey! The setup is so simple that you can do it yourself. Those spout overflows are useless. Far to small to be effective.

I have five barrels full of water now, and am thinking of adding two more, since I have the barrels just sitting behind the shed. We have had thunderstorms each day for the last three days, and I cringe, when all that water is going to waste, since I am sure it will be required later in the season.
