Replacing an old hedge with a fenced terrace: 6 photos

Some of you may remember our plans to create a terrace where there was an old hedge eating the plumbing to the pool. Here is what we have done. The gate is 10 feet in height. There is an entry side wall with openings for a gong, and some chimes. The design was inspired by balinese temple gates...sort of. While watching hockey. The fence is about 7 feet. I designed this, but the guys who built it were incredible! Comments are welcome, and please suggest landscaping ideas for the terrace, which is small but hot.

Holy WOW! That looks awesome! A huge improvement.
Are you going to put patio bricks down or stictly plants? My temptation would be to keep it minimal in that corner. Going with the Balinese Temple theme I'd be tempted to use large pots (Coombs Market had some awesome ones for a great price!)with a bonsai or bamboo, something of that nature.

A great improvement, and now a new area to play with.

Thanks Blue, Lyn. Smitty, Lulu and Betty... I am going to need some inspiration for the new place to play.... The walls made the terrace area look so much smaller (well, duh!) and kind of severe, so I am not sure what to do with the corner fence. I had considered putting lattice windows, siimlar to what is in the gate in one wall, but so much for pool privacy.

will post as I go....
