Spring Tree Planting
when is a good time to plant a tree in the spring? I live in Newfoundland and it's not uncommon to get frost in May and June around here. I want to purchase a tree for a friend and I'm not sure about spring planting. Can someone offer some advice?

Re: Spring Tree Planting
As long as the ground is unthawed completely, and that a really good hole is pre-dug, you can plant a tree. You will have to make sure that a really large hole is dug and good quality soil used for backfill.
I lived in Newfoundland for 16 years and know just how hard it is to grow a good-sized tree. Preparation is everything.
Good luck!
