Cheese Crispies

Postby Lindamct » Dec 18, 2008 10:51 am

This is a very tasty appetizer that are always a hit where ever I visit. I thought it would be nice to share, at this lovely time of year. Season's Greetings! :D
[color=#408040]1 Tub of MacLaren's Cheese, 1 Cup of Butter, 1 and 3/4 cups of white flour, 5 cups of Rice Crispies. Dash of Cayenne and Worcestershire Sauce. Soften Butter and Cheese in the microwave(do not melt). Whip together and then blend in Flour and Rice Crispies. Roll into 1 inch balls and pat down with a fork. Bake at 350 F until just turning golden brown, for about 10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen. Enjoy! They freeze beautifully as well

You'll love them Lyn :D I just sent a little box in the mail to my Mom. She is unable to bake any more. She used to make them every year at this time, and mail them to me. :D

Never made them with the Christmas ones Lyn. Might me nice if you are serving to young ones. This recipe my Mom acquired back in 1959 during Dad's posting with the Canadian Melisha(sp?). I don't think they had Christmas Crispies back then  :D
Your quite welcome Northpine :D

I'm not familiar with a Tub of MacLaren's Cheese. Is this something like CheezWhiz? I love cheese as does my family and I would like to make some of these. I like that they freeze well.

They sound good Linda

I bought rice crispies to make the squares. The boys love them, but seeing this I think I will make the cookies instead

I don't see anything that would react with them being allergic to peanuts

thanks for posting
