Been raining here a lot. Had to drain the pool twice so far. Rain forecasted all week/weekend and all next week. Sucks.

Aw!!!! Poor you!
I have brown...no golden grass. My gardens look like they've been a month in the desert....oh they practically have! 2 months of +/- 30C Sun almost every day and probably only 2 days of rain.....only one being actually a rain day.
Fire bans and total watering bans, water levels so low, that even people on wells were conserving.........
We are supposed to clear up Saturday Aft.....I will take 2 days of rain. With a smile.
But I won't put gas in the lawnmower......yet!

Yeah my lawn and some guy down the street are the only ones with green grass. Since I bought a timer for the garden hoses, I tossed the sprinkler on it as well to water between 3 & 5 am. All the same as you, except no water ban.
heh, and you're right about the lawnmower. neighbours haven't cut their grass in a month. No water, no growth. But I had to cut mine twice and it's do again. So next time I won't water so I can be happy and lazy as well.
This is the first time I ever saw constant brown for lawns. Not something I ever saw before. Many never saw this before. Guess it will be the new thing with the way the weather is going.
I'm talking about the weather... uhg, shoot me now.

can I??????
I am not complaining at all!!! I love the heat. But we need the rain...so I will let it rain. It just seems to be a very odd summer...well a real summer....if I was at a cottage all summer I would love it!

Re: I'd go out and weed my gardens.....
This is our second overcast day but the difference was that it rained today! Yes!
It's amazing what a little bit of rain will do for a lawn. Even though we've kept the lawns watered with our sprinkler system, coming on in the middle of the night, it's just not the same as a good rain from the heavens!
Mind you, the lawns are in terrible shape with crab and quack grass, plantain-type weeds, clover, and goodness knows what else.
Apparently there is a rumour that the government are reconsidering the ban on all the chemicals we've used in the past to control the weeds. It's farcical really. The golf courses, and there are many in our area, are allowed to combat the weeds with 'banned' chemicals but the homeowner is not. Who uses the most - I wonder!
Anyway, we have green lawns, which look great from a distance, but up close are abominable.

Really? I haven't read this. Any source for this info?

My husband was talking with the owner of a local Weed Man franchise. It was he who volunteered this information.
