I found some at an Italian grocery store. The seed rep was just putting out a new seed display.

and planted them about 11 days ago. So far - nothing! I planted scarlett runner beans at the same time, and they've sprouted through nicely and are growing well already. So are the other seeds that I planted that day. I don't know whether the purple pole bean variety takes longer to germinate? I just checked the seed packet to see if it says anything about germination time, but there's no info there.

Thx Booklady. I guess I'll just have to be patient. I finally also found some info on a website that said Hyacinth purple runner beans can take between 2-3 weeks to germinate. So I guess I just need to give them more time. I got panicky when the Scarlett Runners were so quick to pop up through, but still no action from the Hyacinth Beans.

Update: Just checked my planter which I put back outside on my balcony about 10am as it's warmer here today..... I see some Hyacinth beans are finally sprouting through!!
