Herbs with cherry tomatoes

I thought a that the poster's idea of planting herbs in with potted tomatoes was a great idea, the pots always look so bare until the plant takes off...... anybody else tried it?

Hi Chelsea:
I always grow my basil in with my tomato plants. They seem to like each other!
Basil generally likes its' own space, but seems to have a symbiotic relationship with tomatoes!
