Yellowing (cherry) tomato leaves

Postby isabelbrinck » Jun 27, 2008 11:05 am

I received this lovely cherry tomato plant a week ago.

I first re-potted it into a 6" container but then quickly moved it to its own 24" planter which I keep well watered and in a sunny location. The fruits are doing fine and I have enjoyed some yummy ones over the past days but I noticed some of the leaves are yellowing.

Any thoughts on why and how I can improve the plants health? I haven't fertilized it.

OMG that's a lot of fruit on such a small little plant.

Hope you get more info from other people.

I'd say it is feeling a bit stressed from having been repotted twice in one week with a full load of fruit on it. Possibly it has also been grown in a greenhouse and is trying to adjust to full sunlight. Make some tomato salad, pick off the yellow leaves and let it settle in.

Maybe it would be a good idea to pick some of the fruit off too, so the plant isn't struggling iwht both the adjustment and producing fruit.
