Coming Along!
My planters are coming along nicely. This is one of my 'entrance to the front door' planters. All the coleus I took cuttings from last year, and kept them going in my basement under grow lights. I did the same with the lime green sweet potato vine. The lobelia is some I also started from seed in the basement at the end of January!
I didn't manage to keep the burgundy sweet potato vine going, so I had to buy some more this year.

Oh BBQ! I think that looks amazing!!
You've definitely got the knack of 'thrill, fill, & spill'. By the way, in the picture the blue of that lobelia is gorgeous.... it looks really a deep sapphire blue shade. Is that true to life?
P.S. - You'd better enter this one in the best container contest that I'm sure is coming up!!

I'm very happy to say that it is!
I grew enough to stuff my other two metal urns. The three are exactly the same.

Thank you, evepet. They're probably only about two-thirds of where they will eventually be. The centre grass will get a lot taller.

Very eye catching indeed. Did I skip over which grass is in the middle? Would it be a pennisetum and if so which one?

I think you're right Betty about the grass being a pennisetum, but which one I don't know! It's a fairly common, not cheap, annual grass, sold in better nurseries at the start of the planter season. It's leaves are very deep burgundy, but sometimes there's just a hint of green showing. The plumes are magnificent - when they stay upright!
