I grew an upside down tomato a few years ago. Yes, the plants do tend to grow upwards, but after awhile they do hang down. I made my own container out of an old pail with a hole cut in the bottom. You need a very sturdy place to hang the pot as it gets very heavy, especially just after watering. You also need a place that is high enough to hang the pot so that the plant doesn't reach the ground. You can see some ]photos of my tomato plant on my personal website.

Kewl! How was your harvest? Did you get as many tomatoes as you would from a regular plant?

The harvest was quite good, lots an lots of tomatoes
