By the time those containers come to market they are pretty well fully grown, and have probably exhausted all the massive amounts of nutrients they have been fed. You will have to keep snipping off dead foliage and flowers, and continue to fertilize them every couple of days.
What you could do is to take them out of their nursery pot, put them into your own larger containers, and add some more potting mix, and continue to give them lots of fertilizer.
