African violets
Can anyone help me with a problem I am having with my African Violets? On a few of my plants the new leaves that developed were very hard and did not want to grow. I have grown African Violets for years and I have never had this problem. I have no idea why it is happening or what I can do to stop it. I have lost 2 plants already and two more seem to be suffering the same fate.

Just a few questions for you
Are the leaves that are hard still green or do they turn a muddy gray colour ?
Are you on city water or well water?
How often and with what do you fertilize?
Has the weather in your area been very dull with little sunshine lately?
Hope we can find out what is happening to your african violets

The leaves are still green. I am on city water but I leave it out for 24 hours before I water them, always from below. I fertilize about once a month with 8-14-9 liquid african violet fertilizer in the water.
