Good morning all
I have a palm plant not sure which one but I have been having problems with a reddih brown residue covering new leaves. Would appreciate any help. Unfortunately I removed the residue before I took the picture.

Hmm... does the foliage look spotty? Any signs of 'webbing' between the leaflets and on the newly emerging growth?

No there is nothing on it at all, just this reddish brown residue that I removed with soapy water and alcohol. Does anyone know what kind of palm this is? Areca?
