Cactus name & care?

Looks to me like a Thelocactus (Echinocactus) hexaedrophorus. Don't know the common name for it.
As in most cacti from Mexican regions, no to very little water during the winter or cooler weather, and let it get very rootbound. Overpotting in a container that is too big, could lead to rot.
Cooler temperatures promote buds.
I always like to know where a plant is from, as I can give it better care. I keep an eye on weather patterns in places where the plants come from, so when it starts to rain in around (in this case San Luis Potosi) then I would resume watering
