starting tomatoes indoors

Postby gardendreamer13 » Oct 17, 2013 3:48 pm

The other year I started tomato plants indoors. They sprouted, but then they wilted and died. What can I do to keep them growing bigger and stronger indoors until the time to transplant them in the spring?

Hello,
Make sure you wait until late winter/early spring to sow your seeds. Usually you count backward from the frost-free date, based on what your package says. Tomatoes like lots of sun. They could have wilted for a variety of reasons - perhaps they outgrew their pot or they were overwatered.
