Peach Trees
Hello...I hope I am in the right spot. I am thinking of buying a peach tree for my backyard, however I would like to have just one, and someone told me that I had to have 2 peach trees if we wanted to eat them. Is this true. If it makes a different I live in the Niagara region in Ontario.

The reason people usually have two is so that cross polination can take place. I would say that you should be alright with just one tree. I had one in my backyard and a neighbour three houses away had one too. We had lots and lots of peaches. Just one caution, peach trees have a life of about 5 to seven years and are prone to peach borers. Once the tree is infected, there will be no fruit ripening, they will fall off before they ripen. O
