The pond is beautiful Daisy. Are there any fish in the pond?

It sure is looking sweet daisy. The nice thing about the lilies is it provides some surface shade which helps prevent algae blooms and provides shelter for your fishes from the hot sun. Another plant you should consider is an oxygenator like Hornwort...it is really really cheap and helps with the balance of the pool...and again provides some shelter and habitat for the fish. I think you should submit this transformation to Canadian Gardening Magazine...it is a really clever use of something that could have been viewed as a negative in a garden...and has become a glowing focal point. Good Job. :!: :!: :!: :) :P

you can also get some water plants for decent prices at fish stores like "Big Al's".
try Cabomba, it's a FAST growing and helps absorb nutrients to fight algae as well as when it dies will provide a good layer of detritus on the bottom of the pond for other plants to root into.
there are also tons of other plants to!
