Over the Garden Fence - Gardening Forums

Random Link Issue

Pull up a chair and grab a cup of Java for a cozy chat about what's on your mind and what's happening in your neck of the woods. This is a strictly for fun non-gardening topics.

Do you wish to continue to have "Links of Interest", i.e. the random posting of linked topics pertaining to anything, but not specific to any question or topic already posted?

What we are referring to is links that are posted that do not pertain to a conversation that is already taking place.

My vote is a most definite NO!!! I've always come to the Patio/OTGF for conversation and fun/goofing around, NOT clicking on annoying random links. Not interested in "talking" to a link, even when in an ebullient mood. laffs

Thanks for your dedication to this matter, mods! klink!klink!

I don't look at links usually unless they are pertaining to a conversation already started,or if a question has been asked that I am interested in.

If a link is just posted with no mention of why, I pass it by.

Thanks so much for asking,I like it that we have imput here.

Well said and my feelings exactly, including the thanking so much for asking. It's nice to see democracy in action and I'll live peacefully and gracefully with whatever the final decision is. (I voted no...)

Random links with no description is not okay I think.

Providing a link to prove an example, show an article or other matter of conversation with peers should be allowed.

Thanks :)

The issue has now been resolved and links without information won't be allowed. I've posted a list of rules below that hopefully, will be to everyones satisfaction.

There is an "Announcement" sticky. It will be either the first or second posting on the first page.
