Outhouse Plant

Postby Durgan » Jul 28, 2008 10:21 am 28 July 2008 Rudbeckia laciniata 'Hortensia' (Golden Glow)

Common name : Outhouse Plant or Golden Glow.

This plant was taken from another yard as a small clump. This vigorous spreader is kept contained by digging trenches around the clumps. A string encircles the upper area to prevent flopping after a heavy rain. I have seen the plant in many gardens, and nobody ever knew the name.

Thanks Durgan, couldn't remember the scientific name for it. And everyone just shook their heads when I said "outhouse plant".

We are planning to build an outhouse, maybe next summer (for when those electricity blips cut our power), so this will be a great way to hide it. Thanks Durgan.
