Familiar birdie faces in a new setting
Slowly but surely the winter birds are finding our feeders here. I sure miss seeing the birds we left behind, but each day it gets a little bit better. (And I promise not to remove these images so quickly this time-lol)
White-breasted Nuthatch

Red-breasted Nuthatch

Junco

Black-capped Chickadee

I've seen only one cardinal so far and he was a juvie...but there's hope! We've also had a few Tree Sparrows and American Goldfinches here as well.

Very sweet, and nice photos, as usual. Love that chickadee!

I really love these little birds and really great pictures
I have a nuthatch too.
I need to make more of your suet
The Jays chase the little birds away and gobble everything up
I have been making a new batch of suet every week and they go through 8 cups of seed every day. The Jays so that is
I don't like the Jays
I am sure going through a lot of peanut butter

I'm impressed by the skill of the photographers in this forum. Love to see the pix! Thanx.
Funny tho BF . . . there's a few Jays at my feeder but not all the time. They come and then they go . . . and then the little guys get in for their share. It's those big bullys
. . the Mourning Doves . . . that tend to park in the feeder and declare it a 'no other birds allowed' zone.
lol There's a neat trick with my Blue Jays. If I open the sliding door and throw a peanut on the kitchen floor they'll fly in and pick it up. They've got me well trained I think.
I've got a question too tho. Is there a limit on how many images u can upload here? . . or how long u can leave them?

Thanks Kat! I'm starting to hallucinate bright red cardinals...just now tried to turn a piece of old red plastic bag that blew across the snow into a cardinal-laf.
Thanks BF and please feel free to send me all of your jays. I love to photograph that gorgeous blue! And, they've been very good to me this year.

Thanks Frank!
Pushy Mourning Doves eh? Tell them they're supposed to be feeding on the ground and to go and park themselves there instead.
I don't know if there is a limit as to how many photos one can put in a post, but it might be a bit rough on dial-ups to have to download too many at one time. The photos stay here until the admin deletes the archives, or when the poster removes the attachment or in my case, breaks the link from their website.

They're all great photos but of course the nuthatches are my favourites. Haven't seen any at my feeders yet. Here's hoping.

I have morning doves too but they feed on the ground
sometimes they fly up but mostly they go for the corn on the ground
I love the colors of the blue jays I wish they weren't such piggies.
.
I think they have e tranined to FRnak but can you imgine them coming in your house
Do you have a pic of them inside our house?
BB I would love to see your cardinals. I love them
sigh someday they will come here, maybe
They clean me out everyday
