A friend from work has this plant that they have had for years but no one seems to know what it is called. Is there anybody out there that can help, it would be much appreciated!

This plant looks like one of the variegated cultivars of Fatshedera lizei. If so, it is a bigeneric hybrid of both Fatsia & Hedera (english ivy)

Yes, I agree with Dan.
It could be Fatshedera lizei ‘Annemieke’ ...what do you think Dan?
It's a beauty! I think the common general name for these guys is Tree Ivy???

I'd have to agree with you BB, there is no white in the leaves that I can see from the photo to be 'variegata', but you never know what the new breeders are coming up with. So 'AnnaMikkels' /"Annemieke' seems to be the cultivar
When grown indoors, they tend to get lanky, but Colleen yours is a great looking and healthy plant. Whatever you're doing, you're doing it right
