ALPHABET SOUP ~~ K
Onwards and upwards to the 11th letter of the alphabet. I must say, this years soup is very, very tasty!

Speaking of soup I think that is where this Kabocha squash ended up. The big red tomato also probably came off the Kimberly vine so this is a double K picture.

I guess we have some K's......
Kolwitzia(beauty Bush)....one of our favourite early summer flowering shrubs

It dominates our lower garden near the end of June(click for a bigger pic)

Kalmia latifolia(Mountain Laurel) is another summer bloomer.

Kerria japonica, blooms about the same time as the azaleas.

I don't seem to have many Ks - in fact I can only find one! I will post more if and when I can find any!
Here is a Korean lilac. This is a shrub I brought from my other house and it bloomed for the first time in 2008; in fact it bloomed twice, and this pic is from the 2nd blooming at the end of the season!

It's always a treat when you get second blooms late in the season isn't it Brenda?

Sharon, the Kerria I got from you was well admired last year and I am hoping for more blooms this year.
Dora, I would give anything for a freshly picked tomato right now.
Like grannygardener, I have Knautia and mine has spread in my garden.
Calamarostis (reed grass) Karl Foerster It does not usually have pronounced plumes but the fog that morning had highlighted them with moisture.
And I just took this photo a day or so ago, leaves are starting to be a bit ratty, but the blooms of this Kalanchoe are nice to enjoy on a cold blustery day. I bought it last Easter in an arrangement and managed to not only keep it alive, but to get it to bloom.

Betty, the foggy light sure enhances your Karl Forester. Wish mine looked like that.
I have no K flowers but do have a K kitten.
