In our country, we call it Kalabo; Used primarily as a medicinal herb.

It is Salvadoranian oregano, i have have and the more shade it gets it will grow and grow and fill flower...

We always referred to it as Cuban oregano.The oregano flavour comes from the essential oil, carvacrol, in the leaves. The Plectranthus amboinicus makes a great houseplant when kept pinched, but I find the scent a little overwhelming. It is sometimes used in East Indian, Indonesian , Korean and Malay cooking and for flavouring medicines
