Do I really need to soak terra cotta pots?
Since I am going to be using a terra cotta pot to transplant the kalanchoe plant in, do I really need to soak the pot in water first? My reason is that since terra cotta is porous and I am using it for a plant that should not be overwatered, isn't soaking the pot first sort of undoing the reason for using a terra cotta pot in the first place?

I don't bother soaking the pots.

Good, neither did I. Both my plants are now potted, so thank you so much for your info.
