i am a new gardener, i will mistake it for an iris.

we have a horticulture society here in ottawa, I will ask around in the next months meeting.

It is quite difficult to mistake, it is very small, and the blooms are bright blue, appearing just as the snow melts. Sometimes before crocus, but around the same time.

It's called Glory of Snow.

aha, now that's a familiar name. probably blooms with the yellow trout lilies.
