our derek
I just got a call from a very frustrated "our derek" who can read posts but cannot log on. He gets the message that his name & e-mail address is already used when he tries to register again.
Can someone here help him out?

Re: our derek
Hope you both get your issues resolved.
It's very, very frustrating.

Re: our derek
If your friend, or others, can't get on with their old user name or old Email address then they can do a couple of things to get back in.
1. Try the Password reset feature found here:
ucp.php?mode=sendpassword
2. Instead of trying to login via what-ever interface they are using, try this.
-Open any post found under any topic.
-Hit the "reply" button.
-You will then be prompted for user-name and password, which will by-pass any other login interface.
If steps 2 & 1 don't work for you, then try step #3
3. Create a new Email account (Use anything just for registration purposes. In this example I will use hushmail.com).
-Go to https://www.hushmail.com/signup/ to create a new free email address.
-Once the new Email address is created, come back to this forum and register a new account (yes their old user-name will be lost) found here:
ucp.php?mode=login (scroll down and click on "register").
-Register using a new forum name.
-Check your new Email account for the new registration info that will be sent to you.
-Log-in to this forum, go to "User Control Panel" and see if you can change your hushmail Email account to your old Email account. But you may not be able to since they may restrict one Email account per one user ID.
Anyhow, at least this way you are in, and you can at least make a post for some help, or PM a mod to play with your old user account to make it functional.
This step #3 will eliminate your friends issue of, "the message that his name & e-mail address is already used when he tries to register"

Hi Ron, I will send off a message to admin....If Derek has been trying to get back, depending on the browser he uses...sometimes the password reset emaill has been showing up in spam and people are missing it completely.
