I would probably take out the lawn and fill it with perennials and shrubs, (flowering), and mulch it quite heavily. You could add a couple of spectacular pots filled with annuals for some nice colour during the summer.
I would also probably put a curved paved walkway from the driveway through it, continuing down the side of the house. I don't think much is going to survive between the house and fence anyway.
It's going to be a challenge for you, but hope you enjoy the journey.

I am new here but love this advice from BBQ! The pathway is a great idea because grass gets worn down anyways with everyone walking over the same patch. It would be beautiful to have the path bordered with colorful annuals too!

oh for sure Lulu! I can't wait for those brugs
We will be working on taking out the grass this year and replacing it with path & more perennials. I will update pics as we go

We started our front yard project.... Please let me know what you think... we're planning on planting creeping thyme and wooly thyme in between the paths and low perennials in the bed.
