Container gardening in the shade
I live on the ground floor of an apartment building and I'm fortunate to have a fairly spacious terrace. I'm looking forward to doing some container gardening this spring, but I get very, very little sun in the space. Any suggestions for what types of flowers and plants might do well in the shade?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Impatiens do very well in shade. They come in a variety of colours like pale pink, vibrant pink, mauve, white and red.
Begonias love shade and Hostas do too. Coleus has very colourful leaves.
Tall Solomons' Seal would definitely be an interesting addition along with some Sweet Woodruff as a ground cover. Containers full of Hydrangeas would be spectacular.

one little hosta you could try in your (shaded area) container is "Golden Tiara"...this little bicolored hosta could remain in your container over the winter and then divided in a few years...Best of luck!!
