I don't know why you were so bothered by the hornet in the salad ..It
wouldn't have eaten much of it .
Be thankful you didn't bite into the salad and find half a bug in it .

Well I'm sorry...

....Sorry that you didn't have your cam that is. Food falling out of your mouth, arms waving, dishes flying. That must have been a Kodak moment.

Would have loved to have seen your better-half's expression to all that ;)

He had a total look of shock on his face

Didn't laugh at me at all.

Thank goodness.

He knows better....and he loves me.

I'd have a look of shock too. My first impression would be she's choking.

Then I'd ask how you washed the lettuce w/o getting stung. :P

We have a salad spinner.

I can only imagine that hornet must have been pretty dizzy after that.

Thankfully you didn't get the hornet in the first mouthful.

Several years ago I did herbs in my basement with success. This year I got back into it. I did lettuce in soil and also in a simple hydroponic setup. I`ve been harvesting lettuce since January. One of my bins provided lettuce for 3 months or more. It is pretty easy to do and I hope more people will come to enjoy their own at-home, fresh, organic greens. It truly is rewarding.
