when to add manure?
I just bought a bag of cattle manure from Canadian tire. I kept reading it was good for plants. I was just wondering when can I work it in to my soil and when can I plant seeds in there?

Hope you bought the weed-free stuff! lol
Don't put this on too heavily. Scatter a thin layer over your soil and work it in. If you use too much there's always the risk of burning the roots of tender plants. I usually use manure at the end of the season and dig it well in.
But, to answer your question - yes, go ahead.

You can also make manure tea and side dress your plants with that if you're worried about burning roots of young plants. For me, as long as I don't put too much into the garden in the Spring, it doesn't bother the seedlings. I too prefer to work the manure into the garden in the fall, then it has all winter to rot and mix with the soil in the garden.

The manures from Canadian tire are labeled all the same, be it sheep or cow. Something like .6-.6-.4 (or there-about)
I added about 4 inches of the stuff to my potted plants. It's been a week and I see no ill effect. So I wouldn't worry too much about over doing it in the garden. It appears weak.
I believe the label says to use one 25L bag for a 4'x3' area.
