Strangest bird ever.....

I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a bird feeder. Either I was misled, or this is the strangest bird I've ever encountered.



It even has....a fuzzy tail!! *gasp*

Yeah, I have a similar caged bird feeder like yours. When I first put it up, the blackbirds were delighted to sit on the cage part and eat the seeds. Same with the black squirrels.

That so-called squirrel proof feeder is now residing on the floor, tucked into a corner of the greenhouse until I find another use for it.
$25. down the drain.

This year I tried an experiment with the type of seeds I put out for the birds.
There is 2 feeders of niger seed only.
By having only niger seed, the blackbirds, bluejays and all the other larger birds stay away from the feeder allowing the songbirds like the Finches to enjoy their meals without being disturbed.

Now we can enjoy the songs of the Finches all day long.

I sent the company I purchased the feeder from the picture of mr. squirrel happily munching on seeds. Still waiting for a response. Probably best not hold my breath lol. It's also supposed to keep out the jays and whatnot.

What we can't figure out is how in heck he got up there. It's on a 6 ft shepherds hook, and the rhodo is NOT as close to it as it looks in the pic.
