Re: Darn Cats
Before, I put out a tray of sand in a corner and planted catnip around it. They much preferred that over my garden and tended to stay away.
Then I got a dog who loves to chase cats, squirrels and grackles. If he catches them, he licks them to death. Whenever I'm concerned, I set him loose. The cats have learned to avoid my yard

The most effective mosquito repellent is a shotgun.

Re: Darn Cats
I tried protecting our garden with a fence of chicken wire 4 feet high. The cats just jumbed over at night.
Also tried mothballs and dried red pepper flakes with not much success.
Finally tried spraying citronella around the outside and this seemed to have done the trick,do not know if it will work for everyone but it seems to have worked for me....
