Nice pic of a really cheery bloom! It looks like the variety 'Brilliant'.

Love it! That's what I have - or supposed to have! It hasn't produced any blooms at all for 2 years. There's lovely foliage, very strong-looking, but no blooms! Mine's planted next to the white peony, and they used to come out together!!

It's a Brilliant Oriental Poppy to be exact. They bloom like clockwork every year!

Have you tried some of the Miracle Grow fertilizer for flowers? Im wondering if it's low on a nutrient of some sort.

Could be, but the peony bloomed beautifully, the clematis are blooming well, the lysimachia are blooming their heads off, as did all the spring blooms; aubretia, creeping phlox, etc. The heuchera are doing well.
It certainly couldn't hurt to try a little blooming fertilizer. I'll do that. Probably too late here to get a bloom this year, but I'll try to remember next year! I love these poppies.

BBQ, I had a similar situation with 'Princess Victoria Louise' - my problem was too much shade. I moved them last year to a sunnier location and had a great display this year.

Trish: I was thinking that I would try to transplant, as I'm pretty sure that they're not getting enough sun now. Looked up when the best time is and it seems that late August/September is probably the best way to try. I will do it then. At my last house my next-door-neighbour-but-one was a master gardener, and his oriental poppies grew everywhere. I did ask him what he did to make them grow so well, and his answer was simply - 'nothing'! No care, no fertilizer, no water. I used to pick the odd one of his, (with permission), and float it in a small bowl filled with water for the dining table.

Here's a favourite of ours, although the orange ones are also beautiful.
