FYI for feeders on this thread...

I've switched all my feeders (two hanging feeders and one ground feeder) to only safflower seeds. I had mixed them with sunflower seeds, but the blackbirds figured it out and would just spill the entire feeder for what they wanted. Put them all away for a week, cleaned them, and put them back with only safflower. Blackbirds came for a bit, but left unsatisfied. Ha!!

Just thought I'd pass this along to my fellow feeders

Back now to furry birds...lol!

I read somewhere recently that if you put crushed hot peppers in with your bird seed that the birds will still eat it and not be bothered by it but the other critters will leave it alone. Haven't tried this yet but in theory it could work.

That's an interesting idea.

My two cats were going nuts at the window today. Squirrel Bond was back and helped solve the mystery of how he got into the feeder.....he scaled the steel shepherds hook. Bugger.
