New Garden & Arbour (Before, Middle & After)
My husband and I put in a garden 2 years ago in our backyard. The yard has a slope that leads down to the water so my hubby made an Arbour a stone stairway that goes thru the middle. Here's some pix of before, middle and after. Enjoy.

Thank you. I forgot to add a photo from the top. I put in a stone pathway that goes around the back of the house. I planted some thyme in between the rocks, just waiting for it to fill in.

What a great job; certainly worth all the hard work you obviously put in. It's gorgeous. Me? I see something with a deep colour up against or meandering over that arch!! lol
I lived on waterfront property until 6+ years ago and we had a focal point where we used to sit with a glass of wine and watch the water. I miss it, but not the nearly 2-acres on a slope!

Your husband did a great job with the arbor and walkway. Your gardens are beautiful too.
Congratulations on a job well done.

Great result! I agree something luscious growing up the side will be delightful. Those stones for the steps are substantial - looks great. Is that a natural stone available where you are?

I can't remember what the name of the stone is. We bought them from a stone supplier and they weighed a lot! I think they were over 250lb each. Took 4 men to carry each one. Hubby def. earned some brownie points.
I have a climbing hydrangae on the one side of the arbour. The one on the other side didn't make it. We have a lot of shade in our yard. Basically our whole property only gets sun in the morning for a few hours or in the afternoon. No full-day sun. Kinda sucks but hostas and ferns are my favourite anyway so it works out.
