help with front yard please!

One plant I see around all the shopping mall parking lots here are Stella D'oro daylilies. If they withstand all the exhaust pollution, dryness and mountains of snow and ice piled on them every year, they've got to be tolerant. They also bloom cheerfully all summer and stay fairly small.

You have a wood chip on your stone.

Not only is Dumbo smart but he has good eyes too! lol

The finished product is really good, very pleasing to the eye.

The only problem I see in the future, apart from the mulch straying, is the Annabelle Hydrangea. These get massive, and before you know it it's going to be taking over in that area. Not to worry though, they're forgiving too, and you can chop them back as much as you need to to keep them toeing the line!

A great journey, and all the hard work has paid off. Congratulations.

You made great use of the space,I would have used a dark mulch but that is just me.Much more pleasing to look at than grass !

Dumbo: Thanks re:wood chips on the stone. I can live with that better than dying grass

BBQ: I am planning to cut the annabelle's every year, this year I let it grow to see how big it get, almost twice as big as last year with smaller blooms. It's been there for 4 years, so far, it's been manageable. Next year, I'm planning to cut it down all the way, I like the big blooms. Thanks for your comment! BTW, I love your garden!!!

Laura: Thanks for pointing that out. I thought about the darker wood chips, maybe we'll add that on top of the reds next year.

I have a question for you....

Did your husband take a saw to the driveway to make a straight edge or was it paved like that and you had no issue with it being straight at all?

I was looking at mine and I think I would rent an asphalt saw to make a straight edge to push the brick against it.

He didn't have much issues, it was pretty straight. He chiseled the areas he had to straighten.

ah ok. ty. I figured he must have done something. A few feet from the road in the original pic the grass edge looked off a bit, but I wasn't sure if it was just the effect of the grass or the driveway itself. So I had to know... thus the question.
