1812 rose
Hi All!
Thought you would like to see The 1812 Rose TM (KORcasima)
This is the official rose of the 2012 Ontario Horticultural Assoc. Convention & The War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration.
It's says it's a repeat bloomer with showy blooms
Scented Floribunda
Large Crimson Blossoms
Good Disease Resistance, Height 3'-4'
Hardy to Zones 5b -9b

Millie, is this in your gsrden? were you lucky enough to get one. Our Society put in an order for these Roses but were "sold out". Will have to wait till next year.

Yes it is Clara, our Hort. Society ordered them last fall and we were lucky to get them.

Yes Trish, so far so good with the disease resistance. From now on if I do get any more roses they have to be DR. Right now have Golden Celebration and Abraham Darby that are full of blackspots even with spraying and hate to get rid of them.

I know what you mean about disease resistance, Millie. It is the gospel in my garden now and it is hard to find roses that are both really attractive and disease-resistant. My most durable rose is 'Morden Centennial'. It grows in a raised herb bed in blazing hot sun with less than ideal breeze but it is incredibly healthy - and, not that attractive to Japanese beetles.
I would probably hang on to 'Golden Celebration' and 'Abraham Darby', too, even with their issues as they are so lovely.
