Hydrangeas
hydrangeas.jpg[/attachment]
Took these this morning. It's getting there but not quite blue yet hopefully couple of more applications and it should do it. Some of my Hydrangeas are just getting to bud but these two are in the front.

Re: Hydrangeas
Millie, those are gorgeous. These are so far ahead of mine - not even one flower yet on two of my hydrangeas, although the Annabelles are in full bloom.

Re: Hydrangeas
So pretty! I thought about trying to find some blue ones for my garden but it's not really big enough for Hydrangeas unfortunately.

Re: Hydrangeas
those are so pretty. I'd love a blue one but I don't have anymore space. I have 3 Annabelles and they're in full blooms for 2 weeks now.

Re: Hydrangeas
Millie, you must be doing something right because they are certainly starting to turn. Lovely display!

You have beautiful hydrangeas! I have two in my garden...had one that survived the Saskatchewan winter twice and a new one that's growing quite happily. I'm surprised that I can actually grow them where I am!

Re: Hydrangeas
Two years ago I tripped around Nova Scotia and saw front yards just loaded with Blue Hydrangea. Hardly any pink.

It seems like all u have to do for Beautiful Blue Hydrangea is move to Shelburne! lol

Thanks Kara, Karen Trish, Diane and Frank!
My other hyndrangeas are are not big. Of course it depends on location and soil to determine the growth. Some years they get pruned others not.
Have been using Aluminum Sulphate to get the blue but it is working better on one of them.
That's what we gardeners do push the envelope and then get surprised when the plants make it over the winter.
Acid soils will do the trick to get the blues that's for sure. My Endless Summer does get help too. On it's own it may be just pink.

I had the same experience. So many houses and and the humblest cottages had blue hydrangeas. It was very striking and I was oh so envious.
