Is this a weed?

Hi all,

Newbie here from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia needs help please. I saw this plant at my backyard and want to put it in a pot. Can anyone identify if this is a plant or a weed? If ain't a weed, does anyone know the name?

The name of your plant is "Mother of Thousands" or Kalanchoe daigremontiana.

That plant is also known as the " Mexican Hat " plant.

It may be considered a weed in Australia but here we grow it as a tropical houseplant.

Thanks guys for the replies. I also did a little bit of a research. I reckon if it’s a variety of weed, it is still a weed, and by law I have to get rid of it. It’s a pest to have this type of a plant in my garden.

Ah yeah? You guys have laws about this even if the weed is not an allergen type weed?

If so, my lawn would be all asphalt or cement.
