I love these plants . They stand so tall and strong with such pretty blooms.
I got the Lavetera seed in rather late but they are now making a nice show.

Those are really lovely Clara. I sometimes wish I had a bit more space for a few more blooms! But I don't dare make any more beds.
It's particularly nice to have blooms at this time of the year. I find my garden rather bland just now. The brugs are blooming sporadically, as is the phlox and a few day lilies, but not much else.

Thanks Brenda, if you are lacking garden space, Ornithagalum will do very well in a pot. I still have lots of colour in the garden. The Rose of Sharon and Hibiscus are blooming also Phlox, Rubeckia, Buddlia, Heliopsis, Platycodon, Helenium , Ligularia and a few Daylilies. The Fall Anemones and Fall Asters will soon start blooming as will the varigated Physostegia, Veronia and Chelone.

Thanks Sharon, yes I have had them for many years. The bulbs multipy and I plant them throughout the garden. I have also given some away to gardening friends.

Clara: I do have double Rose of Sharon in both pink and white, and Platycodon in mauve and white, even a few day lilies, and of course the hydrangeas - Endless Summer, Pee Gees, and another one I can't think of the name just now, but everything seems to be pale. There's no 'pop' other than the poor annuals in pots which have had a hard time of it with the heat. I too had a lovely Ligularia, but it disappeared! The Rudebeckia is everywhere too. Maybe it's just that it's looking tired - like me! lol

Brenda: I know what you mean by " looking tired". Many of the plants are leaning every which way or falling apart because they are so tall. As for myself, I was more tired this summer but blamed it on the heat. We had a wonderful rain over the weekend , 2 inches in the rain gauge . The air sure feels better and much more liveable.
