Plant Sales

Tis the season for clearance sales at some garden centers. Superstore usually has a good one in early July. Are there others that anyone has noticed lately?

I always wait for the BIG Sheridan Nursery sale in October. Trees that are usually $160, are $20. All perennials are between $2 and $5 each. Yip, its a frenzy, but they have tons of stock too. I meet up with my horticultural friends and we have a blast!

My property only got cleared last fall, so I needed to get some plants all through Oct. and Nov. Luckily it remained so warm that nurseries stayed open. I couldn't believe the prices of plants at that time. I got daylilies and big hostas for $3 each, and 6 Christmas ferns at RenoDepot for $1 each! Getting these kinds of deals makes me so happy.

I picked up a lavender, miniature bee balm, tiny sedum and a geranium, plus planter soil for next year. Gotta love it!
