A Miracle in the Pond.
Some of you may remember that I tried to germinate Lotus seed that I bought on Ebay last spring.Well.....my efforts were in vain....I cooked them in the oven or else they rotted in the cols temperature of my home.I found my consolation at Dollarama.Much better price than the $60.00 I spent for a plant that produced two leaves.I just wish I'd visited the store earlier in the summer! The pond has done well this year.I bought a biological filter that solve a lot of problems. My 7 fish have all survived not just the Joywinter but the summer visits of our friend the Raccoon.

Ha! Ha! I like that solution. And they will over-winter well.

Re: A Miracle in the Pond.
Thats very cool! I have been missing having a pond. We have pretty much decided to convert the big swimming pool (that is falling down the hill) to a pond and a smaller lap pool, all we need is money! Ha ha. I would really like to have a few of these lilies myself. We have two native species here... hmmm. AND we have racoons. AND bears. Western terrestrial garter snakes, cougars, great blue herons, bald eagles and osprey. And a merlin. Hmmm.
Well done though, you are such a bargain hunter!

I love the $store.I always say I can have more fun with $20.00 than any other store. However the prices have gone up and my $20.00 cost $37.00 this last trip!I don't get out enough.
