Re: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!!!
LOL Lyn, when I saw the title of this thread I wondered what is this about?
Now I know why you are singing, if you can call it singingLOL
4 yrs. wow that is along time , you will surely miss them but then you will get used to have your space back. 1 1/2 hr traveling is not bad at all. Thats just a nice get away when you get lonely. We travel 9 hrs to see our youngest Grandchildren near Alcove Quebec. But 9 hrs allows stops along the way. We see them 3 times a yr.
Enjoy your peace and quiet!

Not renting out any empty space Marc. It's MINE, ALL MINE!!!!!!
Brenda, yes, it's been a treat watching him grow and enjoying all the firsts I was too busy to really appreciate with my own kids.
Sheila and Clara, I am going to enjoy the quiet and yes, it is a nice short drive away.

Thats really great Lyn, you are a great parent and a terrific grandma. Four years with a small child and two adult children in your house is a huge committment, with so many pay offs in terms of time with your family, but a lot of compromises too. Big congratulations to your son and his wife, as well. My brother lives in RD, its a nice city.

Ditto what Katherine said Lyn.
You have done your job, raised your son well, and helped them get back on their feet, so they could be prepared to face the world.

Just think of all those catch-ups as well i.e. books, Lyn.

You are absolutely right Sheila, and I have many computer projects on hold (family history, photo books....). Yes, not so far that we can get together for holidays and birthdays. They just won't be living in MY HOUSE!
Love them dearly but it is time!
Dan! So good to see you again. I've been wondering where you wandered off too. I hope I've done well by my son. My DIL has come a long way since she first came to live with us. they are both impulsive and young, they will make mistakes and goof things up but they will learn and it is time they did so without such a huge safety net. I sometimes wonder how my daughter ended up with so much common sense and organizational skills and my son.... well.... not so much!

Well, maybe it is because daughters tend to look up to and emulate Dads, and sons , Moms
